Planning a trip to Busan? Here are some of the best things to do, see and eat in Busan, South Korea. There is a lot more to do here than I initially thought and wish we got to stay here a bit longer

1. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple | Best things to do in Busan South Korea
Also known as the most beautiful temple in Korea, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a spacious scenic temple that sits on the Busan coast. It is a hot spot for locals and tourist and can get really busy here quite quickly so make sure you go early.
Definitely a place you have to visit if you’re going to Busan. Perfect place to enjoy the sea view and there are food stalls near the entrance if you’re feeling peckish.
2. Gamcheon Culture Village
One of the most popular and well known spots in Busan, Gamcheon Culture village is a colourful village which full of cute cafés, painted murals and art as well as cute cafes and shops.
Make sure you’re prepared for the walk, it is very hilly here and alot of paths you can walk through and go during the day time to get the most out of your experience. Also check out the Gamcheon Culture Village Information Centre where you can collect a booklet and go around collecting stamps around the village.
3. Haeundae and Haeundae Beach
Alot of people stay in Haeundae whilst they’re in Busan and I can see why. The area is bustling with people various festivals and of course Haeundae beach. The place is really clean and there are plenty of restaurants and food stalls around and an amazing skyline view.
Whilst we were here in early November, we could see preparation for a light festival and a sign promoting the 2030 world expo.
4. BIFF Square
In my opinion BIFF square is the equivalent to the Myeongdong street food vendors. Its one of the places to go if you’re looking to do some shopping and try some local street food. Quite a nice place to walk through to get a feel of the local area and lights up quite nicely in the evening.
5. Songdo Bay
Another really lovely beach to visit in Busan for a few hours. Apart from chilling at the beach there are alot of different activities you can do here. Including going along the Songdo Cloud Trail which is a beach skywalk or going there the cable car from Songdo Bay Station which will take you to Songdo Sky Park.
6. The Bay 101
Just at the end of Haeundae Beach is “The Bay 101” a hotspot to hang out in the evening and enjoy the stunning view of the docks. There are some yacht experiences here and some restaurants you can try out, but just note it is a lot pricer here than other spots in Busan.
7. Busan X the Sky | Best things to do in Busan
If you’re looking for a place to hangout and enjoy the city view of Busan. Busan X the sky is a great place to go. You start your way on the 100th floor and make your way through the exhibition to the 97th.
There are loads of different views once you’re up here and a few cafés you can enjoy whilst enjoying the view. Plus you get 10% off with the tourist card.
8. Museum 1 , Busan
One of the most Instagram worthy exhibitions in Busan, Museum 1 have a number of different rooms which are full of screens creating immersive experience. My advise would be to go early as it got busier later in the day. There are places to sit and beanbags to sit on so a great place to relax and enjoy the scenes. You can get your tickets online in advance or on the day at the ticket counters. Do check in advance what shows they have on because it does vary.
9. Busan Skyline Luge
One of the more unique experiences in Busan is going on the Skyline Luge. In the same area as the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and Lotte World Busan, the skyline luge is a fun activity to do and is fairly quick to pick up. So if you’re nervous about not knowing how to ride one, during your first ride staff will run through the basics on how to ride them and makes sure you know what you’re doing and you’re off. Definitely, something to do if you’re in the area, it was so much fun and you can go pretty fast.
10. Geumjeongsanseong Fortress
If you like hiking then this is the place for you. Geumjeongsanseong Fortress is a fortress located on the peak of Geumjeongsanseong Mountain. You can grab a cable car up through most of the mountain but there is a lot of hiking to do to reach the peak of this beautiful and stunning fortress.
